Biography

Eliel David Pérez Martínez  was born in 1998 in Oaxaca, Mexico. He studied two years at the Oaxaca School of Fine Arts (Escuela de Bellas Arts de Oaxaca) and is currently studying the B.A. of Visual Arts and show disciplines at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia, specializing in painting under the tutelage of Professor Carlo di Raco. The proposal of Eliel David is based on the conscious and analytical experimentation of painting.  The everyday details are decomposed and recomposed, mutating the iconography of each character in a simple game, but as a result of the visual composition. Characters such as a scarf, a button, the corn or often the culinary references come decontextualized and matched with elements far from conventional inside their natural habitat producing ironic and almost sacred scenes. The creative process lasts indefinitely and offers a great richness of graphic contents, through the use of different materials such as waxes and resins, creating light layers on the surface of the work, allowing the appreciation of the artist’s gesture, which is ever-present. All this is elaborated within the viewer as a sensory perception beyond the sight.
