Hello everyone,
My name is Andrea Zampol D’Ortia
and for many years I have divided myself between the world of art and the more earthly and less emotional one related to the marketing of eyewear. I owe a lot to the world of art for what it gives me every day, like numerous collaborations with artists, I cite a few: the iron sculptor Giovanni Casellato, the photographer Christian Tasso, the glass master Mauro Bonaventura, taking care of their growth through exhibitions, publications of books, events in different parts of the world, from Venice, to Morocco, to France. I also collaborated both as an external consultant and as an independent curator during two biennials in Venice with the ECC (www.ECC-italy.eu) at Palazzo Mora, I also organized meetings related to the world of art and finance with the aim of promoting new protagonists in the art world. For example, in 2017, in collaboration with the eyewear company Thema Optical, I realized a project that I had in mind for years dedicated to launching a new brand in the international eyewear panorama: O Six for Art. Through a call, I invited young artists from all over the world to participate in a competition, in which through their imagination and creativity, they had to create glasses.
It was a real success!
I received dozens of projects from young artists from all over the world and the 6 winners, in addition to a cash prize and the publication of a book I created and distributed all over the world they had the opportunity to be exhibited and admired by thousands and thousands of visitors from all over the globe at Palazzo Mora in Venice, for 6 months during the Biennale d’Arte di Venezia 2017, enjoying a unique visibility.
Because I am sending you this email … art has the function of uniting souls in a pure and immediate way, it has its own language and allows people to interact, get to know each other and share beauty.
About a year ago I decided to undertake a project that would connect my two worlds, a sort of meeting point, where an artist finds herself having equally atypical spaces and shapes, wwa new canvas (a pair of glasses) on which to paint, trying to express their genius and madness. I called him “moi aussi …”.
It was not easy, first I had to find artisans who explained the limits of the material that make up the glasses (cellulose acetate) and then experiment: how to insert a stone, how to engrave, how to burn, scratch, paint … At the same time I wanted to create a website (after I will explain why …) which is currently not available on the web pending the final version, where through videos and images we try to explain the philosophy of “moi aussi …”.
What I am looking for are artists interested in the project, in a new challenge.
I am honest, there is no compensation. What you will be given in return is communication
through my vast network in the art world, also facilitated by the fact that I live in Venice and my participation in the most important events in the art world: 1.54 Africa – Art Basel Basel and Miami – TEFAF – and many more.
Once I have a minimum of projects, there will be an Art Gallery on the website where your canvases (glasses), your story and links to your websites and social networks will be represented. In the inner part of the glasses temples, however, there will be a QR CODE through which anyone can enter the website of “Moi Aussi …”: this creates a further window on your world through an object as useful as banal but once touched by an artist, as if by magic, it becomes a work of art in all respects.
All those who want to join “Moi Aussi …” project will be sent a technical sheet, where there will be 4 forms of strictly black canvases (glasses), in 1/1 scale, where you will give vent to your imagination and you can compare with me if there are any doubts. In addition to the technical data sheet, you will be sent some possible processes to be carried out through videos and photographs. Once you decide how to interpret the work (glasses), you will send me the project and I will hand it over to the artisans who will try to interpret it almost faithfully.
Not all projects will be chosen, first I will share them with curators, collectors, artists and then there will understandably be a selection.
By the way, there is no theme: my desire is that you can give vent to an interpretation free of patterns. It is your soul that must speak. Once the work has been completed, your name will also appear in the rod of each model (e.g. “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA for Moi Aussi …”): an additional vector of visibility. When we manage to have a sufficient number of artists, we will prepare the “ART GALLERY” on the web page to spread the project with your name and your works. Whoever wants to contact you directly can do it, this is what I can give you in exchange, visibility and communication, essential ingredients for an artist’s career.
Finally, I would like to reiterate that you can contact me and contact us for any doubts or problems, even just to get to know each other and mutually feed our experience through the
magic and beauty of art.
Thanks for the trust,
